State of Play – Kevin Macdonald does it again

I’m very glad to start this review blog writing about what is definitely one of the best films of the year. Director Kevin Macdonald teams up with Ben Affleck and Russell Crowe for what is undoubtably a brilliant, visually stunning political thriller. I myself am not one who usually goes out of their way to see films in this genre, but I would definitely recommend anyone to do so for this gem. Of course Crowe conducted an amazing performance (he always does), but what was remarkable in this film was Affleck’s part. In my opinion his role in this completely redeems him from his previous unmentionables, (Dare Devil and Forces of Nature). It seems our Ben is back on the same road he started on, (Good Will Hunting). The only negative thing I would say about this film is that Jason Bateman wasn’t in enough of the film. Although his part does show that he is so much more than a comedian, he is indeed an amazing actor.

This is a great film and I recommend you see it by any means necessary.
